Hello, my name is Aisha (pronounced I-E-SHA)! I am a licensed independent social worker who graduated from THE Ohio State University with a Bachelor’s in Psychology. I have a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Cincinnati. In my 20+ years, I have worked in a variety of settings, including work with those impacted by domestic violence, housing insecurity, chronic illness and palliative care, and my most recent, which is as a school based mental health therapist at the high school level. In my years in the field, I have worked with all ages. I understand that starting therapy is not always an easy process and I strive to provide a safe and judgment free space for those that work with me and meet you with empathy and understanding. I utilize strategies of the following: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy techniques in therapy. In our individual work, we must also acknowledge the systems around us that also play a part in the challenges faced. My specialties include short-term work addressing anxiety, depression, adjustment to life’s significant changes, anger management, social skills and self esteem issues. I am humbled that you chose to work with me and look forward to walking alongside you in this part of your healing as you set, progress towards and meet your therapeutic goals!
