Alin Tovar

Alin Tovar is a Licensed Professional Counselor based in Texas, specializing in psychotherapy. With a background in Psychology and Rehabilitation Counseling, Alin has been working in the mental health field since 2010. Drawing from her own experiences and a deep desire to help her community, Alin approaches counseling by empathetically stepping into the shoes of her clients and tailoring treatment to their unique values and experiences. Fluent in both English and Spanish, Alin’s ability to work with a diverse range of clients has been a significant strength throughout her career. She has worked extensively with Central American undocumented families for four years and continues to serve a multilingual population. Alin’s wide-ranging experience includes working in inpatient settings, Child Protective Services, schools, Valley AIDS clinic, and outpatient counseling. Her diverse background has provided her with a solid foundation for becoming an exceptional counselor. In addition to her professional work, Alin actively engages in volunteer activities within the Rio Grande Valley, including participating in Big Brother/Big Sister programs, Special Olympics, Down Syndrome Awareness events, and counseling groups for the transgender community. Currently, Alin is collaborating with a colleague on a pro bono shelter called La Posada Providencia, which supports immigrants from around the world
