Hello! My name is Amanda. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I am licensed in the state of Utah and Hawaii. Currently, i reside in Utah with my husband, daughter and our two dogs. Welcome to BetterHelp and congratulations on taking this huge step towards self improvement. I have 7+ years of experience working in the mental health field. I have worked in various settings to include inpatient psychiatric hospitalization, addictions- individual and group, emergency room treatment, criminal justice system, community clinics, intensive in home family/child therapy, and crisis work with military/veterans. My experience in these diverse settings enable me to better understand the individual. My focus is primarily on severe persistent mental illness, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, addictions, co-occurring disorders, mood disorders, life stressors, personality disorders and dealing with suicidal thoughts and self harm behaviors. My approach is eclectic. I primarily utilize Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT); Solution Focused Brief Therapy; and Motivational Interviewing (MI) (to name a few) to add coping skills and strategies to your “tool box” so that you can build resilience and gain control and fulfillment of your life and future. My goal is to provide a respectful, safe, warm, non-judgmental, compassionate and nurturing environment that enables you to realize your potential and reach your goals. My priority is to meet you where you are and work collaboratively towards setting goals, and choosing the most appropriate treatment modality that fits best for you. I believe we are all just doing our best with what we currently have, but often feel “stuck” and need a change. I am motivated to help you make the changes you desire.
