Dr. Angela Hood

Dr. Angela Hood is a Marriage and Family Therapist that provide counseling to families, couples, women and children. Dr. Hood received a Master of Science Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Nova Southeastern University as well as her PhD in Marriage and Family Therapy. Her doctoral research focused on sexual abuse among Afro-Caribbean women and the meaning they derive from their experience. Dr. Hood has worked in the mental health field for 7 years. She has worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, career challenges, and trauma. She has worked with multiple populations to include adolescents, substances users, department of children and families, and parents involved with the court system. through her matriculation and work experience Dr. Hood has developed a reputation working relationships with community partners in her local community. She specializes in Narrative, Collaborative, and Solution Focused Therapy approaches to counseling. She also offers Christian counseling, pre-marital counseling, business startup coaching, AAMFT supervision to interns, biopsychosocial assessments, treatment planning and mentoring. Her goal is to assist families in achieving the life they “thrive” towards by working them to overcome life stressors.
