My name is April McCray. I am a highly motivated Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a history of dedicated service to the North Florida/South Georgia community. My primary goals are to provide individuals with mental, educational, social, and emotional support in adherence to the National Association of Social Workers Code of Ethics (NASW). My skill set includes an understanding and training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Behavioral Therapy, Mood Disorders, Grief Loss, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Stress Management, Life Management Counseling, Parenting Issues, Post-Partum Prenatal, and Crisis Intervention, assessment and treatment planning. I have a strong commitment and a history of providing services across many populations that include post-partum women, maternal mothers, military families and veterans, disadvantaged youth, and underserved families in rural, as well as major metropolitan environments. My passion is promoting and delivering effective mental health services for the wellbeing of individuals in need of services with Depression, Anxiety, Stress and Mood Disorders. I am seeking to utilize my advanced clinical skills to engage and motivate clients to recover and improve their mental health and overall wellness. I have advanced clinical experience counseling and diagnosing depression, especially Perinatal and Postpartum Depression. I am trained in a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) modality of Moving Beyond Depression and Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP). I was afforded these experiences through my employment at the Center for Health Equity. Additional clinical experience includes, but not limited to, providing psychotherapy to veterans at the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs located in Miami and Tallahassee, Florida. I have professional and personal knowledge and firsthand experience helping military families cope with loved ones that are experiencing Post Traumatic Stress Disorders and Generalized Anxiety Disorders.
