Hi! I am Dr. Solomons (Austin Solomons, DSW, LCSW)! I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a demonstrated history of success working with clients who experience stress, generalized anxiety, depressive symptoms, and relationship problems. I have 15 years of professional work experience helping people with stress, anxiety, relationship issues, & depression. I also have experience working with coping with life changes. I work with couples to repair trust, improve communication, and strengthen their emotional intimacy with each other. Please see this short description of my career: After earning a bachelor’s degree in Applied Sociology from Oklahoma State University (’06) and a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Houston (’09). Dr. Solomons worked in community mental health while living in Houston, TX. At InnerWisdom Counseling Center in Houston, he started as a social work intern and in just 3 years Dr. Solomons was promoted to the role of Program Director where he led the Multidisciplinary Clinical Staff and the Outreach & Marketing Departments. Dr. Solomons worked in this role until 2012 when he and his family moved to Wichita Falls, TX to be a social worker for the US Department of Defense. By 2013, Dr. Solomons began working for the United States Air Force as a clinical social worker. Dr. Solomons is a lifelong advocate of learning. He has served as a Field Instructor for MSW students in the Graduate College of Social Work at the University of Houston & the School of Social Work at the University of Texas at Arlington where he developed learning curriculums for InnerWisdom Counseling Center and for the Mental Health Flight at Sheppard Air Force Base, TX. When not practicing clinical social work, Dr. Solomons participates actively in academic research. Most recently, Dr. Solomons has contributed to research by the Rand Corporation and New York University. In 2020, Dr. Solomons graduated from the USC Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work at the University of Southern California with the degree of Doctor of Social Work. During his time at USC, Dr. Solomons studied methods to stop family violence, particularly, methods to eliminate stigma and fear of the unknown as it pertains to seeking interventions to stop intimate partner violence.
