I am a counselor licensed in Michigan and Florida with over 18 years of experience working as a therapist, clinical supervisor and clinic director. I have worked in hospitals, alcohol and drug inpatient centers, done IOP and outpatient therapy in a number of different facilities. I have worked with clients fighting depression, anxiety, panic disorder, addiction, grief, guilt, Christian and spiritual issues, crisis and some marital and family therapy. Prior to and during my counseling I have also been a police officer, firefighter EMT and 911 dispatcher which many public safety and medical people prefer. My counseling style includes forming a trusting relationship with my clients and using humor, compassion and realism to help them find the solutions to the issues that brought them to therapy. I am easygoing and find I mesh well with most clients regardless of race, sex identity or belief system. I try to help clients work towards solutions to their issues and then to identify current and future life purpose because I believe that people with better identified purpose are more satisfied with their situations and have a higher quality of life. For first time therapy seekers it can be intimidating and I want you to think of it more life a mentor or friend than any kind of shortcoming you may feel that you have. I want to partner with you to improve your situation and regain happines and satisfaction with yourself and your life. I look forward to working with you!
