Welcome! My name is Brenda Hoggs, and I’m a licensed clinical social worker in Georgia, residing in the Atlanta area. I’ve been licensed since 1986, with over 20 years of experience helping individuals and families find greater happiness and life satisfaction. I’ve partnered with children, teens and adults of all ages to deal successfully with major life transitions, find relief from depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder and adjustment problems, and navigate difficult problems with parenting, behavior problems, mild autism and LGBTQIA issues. I have a master’s degree in clinical social work from San Jose State University, with a focus in working with individuals of diversity. My specialties are mental health, parenting, relationships, and trauma. I believe the experience of therapy is a collaborative one where we work together to heal wounds, decrease anxiety and stress, and create a more fulfilling and happier life. My counseling style is warm, supportive, direct and interactive. I am experienced mainly with cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, dialectical behavior therapy, and trauma-informed care. I feel honored to hear your story and be present in your life during the moments we are working together. Starting therapy in itself is an act of bravery, and I would love to become part of your support team. I look forward to working with you!
