Dr. Carissma Hughes Valentine

Dr. Carissma Hughes Valentine is a highly qualified and experienced Licensed Clinical Social Worker-Supervisor and Certified Depression & Mood Disorder Treatment Professional in the state of Texas. With a person-centered approach, she believes that each client is the expert on their own lives and works closely with individuals and families to improve communication, overcome crises, and promote self-care. Dr. Valentine has a wide range of expertise including working with LGBTQ identified persons, Military Veterans, elderly, assault survivors, hospice patients and family, couples, persons with mood disorders, ADHD, persons with a history of trauma, and children/adolescents. She is passionate about helping clients manage difficult feelings and emotions, reduce anxiety and worry, and develop self-love, self-forgiveness, self-esteem, and self-worth. With a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Bowling Green State University, a Master’s in Social Work from Texas State University, a Master’s in Non-profit Management from Johnson & Wales University, and a Doctorate in Social Work from Walden University, Dr. Valentine brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her practice.
