About Catherine Surovy's service

I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) with ten years of experience working with children and families. I have been in both counseling and leadership positions for Medicare families. I have provided counseling services in both residential and outpatient settings for at risk youth. I have experience with intense trauma backgrounds and youth navigating systems such as DCS and probation. I take a relational and systems approach in helping kids build a different identify, gain self confidence, and increase their connections. My passion is helping kids and families gain a new perspective and new found meaning to live their best life. I use techniques such as Trauma Informed CBT, DBT and motivational interviewing. My strength is also in partnership with caregivers to provide psychoeducation and support to improve their communication, relationship and responses to their children.
