Christel Walker

Hi! My name is Christel Walker and I am an LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) in the State of Georgia. I have a Master’s Degree in Counseling and over 10 years of experience working in the mental health field. I have worked in a variety of settings including outpatient clinics, colleges, and facilities like jails and residential programs as well as courts & specialized treatment courts. Listing the various settings is just another way of saying I have extensive experience working with a wide range and severity of clinical issues with a broad range of clients. My most extensive experience comes from working with depression, anxiety, stress management, family/relationship conflicts, adjusting to life transitions, and complex trauma/abuse. I use a person-centered, solution-focused, collaborative, narrative style in treatment. This means we work together to identify where you would like to begin. You will guide the direction of where your story goes and determine the solution you want for the problem(s) you identify. I will work with you to identify a plan to achieve your desired goals or redefine your goal! This generally will happen with my use of a variety of techniques pulling from cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness, wellness, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused techniques to achieve your goals!
