Hello, I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida. I have had over three years experience in this area, and I have worked with a wide variety of concerns including depression, anxiety, family/relationship concerns, communication, motivation, and addictions counseling. In my approach to counseling, I prefer to work from a Humanistic, or Person-Centered, approach; I believe that each individual is the expert regarding their own lives, and that many people simply need someone to listen to them, and offer some guidance as they work to solve their own concerns. I believe that it is important for us to work together to establish your goals, and to begin working to accomplish them. I believe that therapy is an experience that must be individualized, and fine tuned to match the personality and needs of every individual. I do like to provide an individual with specific tools as well, which I typically pull from the Cognitive-Behavioral approach to counseling; this school of thought believes that thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are all interconnected. Working to improve emotional experiences often requires examination of these thought processes, and I hope to work with you to address these in a way that changes perception and improves worldview, thus providing a more positive emotional experience, and increased coping skills. Thank you for reaching out for help today; doing so takes tremendous courage. I am very excited to begin working with you!
