Hello and thank you for taking the time to read this introduction as you consider allowing me to join you on your path to wellness and a better life. I am a New Jersey Licensed Professional Counselor and National Certified Counselor providing psychotherapy and non-medical counseling and coaching for adults, children and adolescents, families, couples, and active duty military and veterans. I use an integrative, person centered, and solution focused approach which means that you guide our process together towards your goals as I offer help through evidence-based, crisis, trauma-focused, mindfulness-based, equine assisted, and expressive and movement modalities. My lifespan of work includes coaching, encouraging, and supporting at all levels across diverse populations, of all ages, at all stages of life, towards empowerment and self-actualization. As a graduate and undergraduate educator I provide traditional, experiential, and technology based teaching to increase social awareness and encourage examination of the impact and outcomes associated with societal, ethical, and legal factors on health and wellness. As an experienced transactional and litigation attorney (now retired), presenter and speaker as both an attorney and mental health professional, and as a volunteer in various capacities in domestic and international settings including outreach to the homeless population, community based work with the geriatric population, direct care with individuals and families effected by hoarding, families effected by intergenerational poverty, and women and children effected by female genital mutilation and trafficking, I bring a wealth of diverse expertise and multicultural awareness to my practice. I offer expertise in trauma informed treatment for youth and adults; interpersonal violence in families and community, and trauma informed treatment for survivors and perpetrators; maladaptive family dynamics; persistent mental illness; suicidality and self-harm; disaster and crisis response and preparedness; and early childhood intervention and prevention. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, career challenges, OCD and ADHD. I have also helped many people who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse, challenges in day-to-day living, traumatic grief, managing stressors in a COVID-19 and post-pandemic world as we move forward through change, and managing diversity & inclusion challenges. My counseling style is genuine, interactive, and centered on the awareness that you know best the solutions that will work in your life even if you have not determined them yet. In respectful collaboration with you, I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs, attending to short term goals and wellness, as well as long term goals.
