About Cristina Aguayo Romero's service

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Utah with 4 years of experience providing individual therapy in English and Spanish. My training and education has focused primarily on the treatment of trauma and working with individuals who have experienced sexual and interpersonal violence. I use a multicultural, feminist lens to understand experiences and have an experiential style that centers somatic practice. I am also trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and incorporate this as a tool for processing. I believe that therapy can be a transformative process and, at times, require some heavy lifting. My therapeutic style is collaborative and I believe in the wisdom found in honoring your lived experience. My hope is to bring compassion and curiosity into our work, and together, co-create a space that feels authentic, transparent, and safe enough to explore past experiences of pain and trauma.
