Greetings! I have been a licensed Clinical Psychologist in Florida for six years and providing psychological services for more than 15. My first experience with psychology was in high school. I remember being fascinated by the mind, psychological research, and the ways people can be similar and different at the same time. Initially, I believed that I was made for analysis and assessment. Still, During my time at Nova Southeastern University, I was encouraged to do initial practicum work in an outpatient addictions program. As it turns out, I much enjoyed the experience and providing therapeutic services. I continued involvement in both areas. As someone who enjoys learning, this initial experience broadened my mind to the many possible psychology areas and the benefits therapeutic services offer. During the remainder of my doctorate work, I provided services to individuals seeking motivation for change, coping with depression, experiencing anxiety, personality difficulties, or struggling with co-occurring addiction-related concerns. My studies further allowed me to work with individuals experiencing significant financial distress, homelessness, legal interests, and neurological deficits. I have provided services at inpatient, outpatient, community mental health, and outreach settings. My approach to treatment can best is eclectic, holistic, and individualized. Having been trained in Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Dialect Behavioral Therapy, I can offer guidance from multiple theoretical frameworks. Although it can be initially uncomfortable to speak with a stranger about significant personal concerns, my goal is to provide an environment that is friendly, judgment-free, open-minded, empathetic, and feels like you are talking to a friend. I believe that together we can work towards meeting your goals and improving the way you feel. Please know, change takes time, and I will be there to assist you in problem-solving, identifying the issues impacting your quality of life, and developing tools to overcome difficulties.
