Deidre Ann Ricketts

My name is Deidre Ann Ricketts, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Florida. I have been providing psychotherapy to individuals ranging from children to older adults for the past 7 years both in person and virtually. My training at Florida Atlantic University, where I earned my MSW degree, as well as my various employment opportunities over the years prepared me to engage in a client centered manner. It has been an honor and a privilege for me to walk alongside each individual as they faced various challenges in their life. Whether it was issues related to grief and loss, family challenges, past traumas, or other life cycle transitions, to name a few, I have made it my practice to approach each individual with respect and care. I understand that individuals know their own life experiences better than I ever could, and have a right to self-determination. I also believe the phrase “no man is an island” holds true, and as a result encourage clients to seek to build bridges, and where this may be impossible, seek acceptance of things one cannot change. The recognition that one is unable to manage one’s mental health alone can be frightening, and feelings of vulnerability and fear may immediately take over. If you have overcome, or at the very least, tolerated those dreaded feelings to the point of reading about me, I would like to personally acknowledge you for taking this step! I believe that finding a good therapist is like finding a good pair of shoes. When it fits, you know! If you are impressed to move forward with me, know that you will be greeted with warmth, care, and sincerity. I have also found that solution focused and cognitive based therapy modalities often produce good results. During our time together, I will seek to empower you on your journey, challenge you to grow, support your ups and downs, and celebrate with you when you have reached your mile stones.
