Diana Heliotes

Welcome to Better Help! I am a Clinical Social Worker licensed in Illinois with 25 years experience working with adolescents & their families, as well as with young adults. I have worked in a wide range of therapeutic settings including: child welfare, a pregnant & parenting teen program, & as a high school social worker. My great joy has been working with adolescents as I am constantly amazed by their insight & inspired by their resiliency. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, abandonment, negative behavior patterns, simple & complex trauma, grief/loss, academic challenges, & ADHD. As your therapist, I will be respectful, empathetic, non-judgmental, an active listener, interactive & when appropriate the use of humor. My therapeutic approach combines cognitive behavior, psychodynamic, mindfulness, & humanistic counseling. My hope is to work with you to assess your needs & set your goals & when appropriate re-assess & re-evaluate your needs & goals. I am a born & raised Chicagoan. I received my undergraduate degree in Finance from DePaul University & my Masters degree in Social Work from Loyola University. My interests include; reading, tennis, baseball, opera, & loving my French Bulldog. I look forward to working with you.
