About Elizabeth Garcia's service

My name is Elizabeth R. Garcia and I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor for eight years History: I began working with the severely mentally ill at a clinic. This was a valuable experience, as it allowed for my skills to develop quickly. Chronic pain was my next impactful endeavor. This population allowed for me to work with individuals in different socioeconomic statuses, education levels, gender, and personalities types. Private practice has made me into the therapist that I am today. Fully capable of counseling the following populations in both an individual and group setting; child custody, adoptions, grief, veterans, children, adolescent, chronic pain, and the severely mentally ill. Theories and Methods: As an existentialist I have been known to draw from the following theories: Reality Theory, Person Centered Theory, Cognitive Behavioral Theory, and Geshalt Theory. The methods I have used include: Art techniques, Music techniques, Mindfulness, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing, and Biblical references. All dependent on the individual and their circumstance, at that moment in time. My most common phrase is, “talk to me…”.
