Harriet Gordon

I am a professional counselor licensed in Missouri with thirteen years’ combined experience in the mental health field. For the past 5 years I have worked almost exclusively with children and teens who have experienced abusive trauma, treating anger, depression, anxiety and PTSD symptoms that often accompany it. In addition, I have educated and supported adults in addiction recovery, survivors of domestic violence, and parents of traumatized children. My counseling style is warm and collaborative. I believe in unconditional positive regard and a shared partnership in identifying treatment goals and steps to obtain them. I combine elements of CBT, EMDR, and DBT therapies as well as practical, mindful solutions that can easily be incorporated into our daily lives. Each client-counselor relationship is as unique as the people in them; as our conversation evolves, I will customize my approach to meet your individual needs. You are worth more than one-size-fits-all treatment. Starting therapy with someone new can be daunting, whether it’s your first time to counseling or not.
