My name is Heath. I love working with people and walking with them through the toughest and in the best of times. I received my Masters in Counseling Psychology and have been a counselor for almost 10 years and specifically a Licensed Professional Counselor for 6 years. I love asking questions and helping others discover what they need and how to get those needs met. I am active in therapy and some people have said that our meetings are often more like a conversation rather than a one-sided discussion or advice giving session. I have been fortunate and passionate to work with people with diverse backgrounds as well as a variety of struggles and because of this I have prioritized continued education on many subjects to develop my understanding and ability to help others. However, even with this experience, I prioritize being open to each individual’s unique perspective and experience, while using a client-centered approach including working to understand the specific goals that are meaningful for each person. My approach utilizes my background in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, but I am intentional in using language that is relatable and usable for the person I am working with when developing goals, coping strategies, or developing understanding about oneself. I use Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for trauma specific work. If you are reading this now, I am excited that you are likely on the verge of making a huge new step towards positive growth. If so, I would be honored to work with you!
