About Dr. Hyun Kim's service

I am a licensed clinical psychologist with specialization in cognitive behavioral therapy for the treatment of depression, anxiety, and insomnia. I take a collaborative and empathetic stance as a therapist, focusing on the interplay between thoughts, behaviors, and feelings. My clients and I approach emotional difficulties using science-based models, identifying maladaptive thought and behavioral patterns and targeting them in an active and collaborative way. I also incorporate various evidence-based treatment methods that utilize values (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) and practical emotion regulation skills (based in Dialectical Behavior Therapy). I received my PhD degree in Clinical Psychology from Boston University and have been at Columbia University since 2020, completing a Fellowship in the Department of Psychiatry. Additionally, I have extensive clinical training from top notch medical institutions, such as Harvard Medical School, Penn Medicine, and Weill Cornell Medicine,
