Jennifer Lachance-Poirrier

Hi, my name is Jen Lachance-Poirrier, and I am a Professional Counselor and Art Therapist. I began my career in the business world as a buyer in the fashion industry, where I stayed for five years prior to going back to school to study art therapy. I believe having experience in a field outside of providing therapy has broadened my perspective and skillset. Prior to being in private practice I worked on the hospice and palliative care team of a major hospital network where I helped families and children move through their grief. Additionally, I met with women and their families who had experienced a perinatal loss. I specialize in grief and loss, which includes bereavement/anticipatory grief/perinatal loss, relationship struggles and divorce/blended families, life changes and adjustments such as moving/going off to college/downsizing/becoming empty nesters, career challenges/job loss or change. I also help those with women’s issues, parenting struggles, anxiety and depression. I would describe my approach as warm, empathetic, and strength-based. I feel humbled and honored to be a part of your personal journey. While our experiences and feelings are all unique we are all walking through this world together. It is important to me you do not feel alone in your journey. It takes a lot of courage to make this first step and I look forward to working through together.
