I am a licensed professional clinical counselor (LPCC) and am licensed to practice in the state of Ohio. Broadly, I specialize in the mind-body connection. I have masters degrees in Sport and Exercise Psychology and Clinical Mental Health Counseling, as well as a PhD in Kinesiology. I have worked clinically in a variety of trauma, addiction, and mental health settings, as well as some private practice. The techniques I use for therapy include EMDR, DBT, mindfulness, somatic experiencing, biofeedback, and movement-based therapies. I believe in a collaborative working relationship with my clients where they bring the expertise in their lives, and I bring the expertise in treatment. Additionally, I have a specialty in working with athletes- whether it is a performance challenge, an injury, or a life adjustment, I enjoy helping athletes get back to their specialty. In my other career, I work as a professor of exercise science where I specialize in sport and exercise psychology. Although I spend the bulk of my time in teaching and research, I love getting to connect with my individual clients. I am in the process of pursuing a certification in integrative nutrition that will complement my work in therapy well. I look forward to getting to know my clients, meeting them where they are, and helping them achieve their goals toward peace and balance.
