Jillian Dunaway

Jillian Dunaway is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminology and a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She has extensive experience working in community mental health, where she has successfully treated various mental health diagnoses and concerns such as anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, relational issues, and stress management. Jillian has undergone specialized training in treating trauma and PTSD and holds a certification in Cognitive Processing Therapy. Currently, she works in crisis response, collaborating with law enforcement on mental health calls to de-escalate situations and provide clients with necessary resources and services. Known for her warm and engaging approach, Jillian believes that building rapport is crucial in establishing a successful therapeutic relationship. She incorporates family systems theory and utilizes Cognitive Behavioral techniques to help clients identify their thoughts, feelings, and patterns, ultimately leading to a healthier way of living and relating. Jillian recognizes the courage it takes to pursue counseling and face concerns head-on, and she considers it an honor to embark on this journey with her clients.
