I am a Licensed Mental Health counselor with three years of experience in the Mental Health Counseling and Rehabilitation fields. My experience is varied as I have worked with veterans, women, children, victims of abuse, couples, families, and teenagers. I use a client-centered approach that focuses on increasing the clients’ insight and giving them the tools so that they can navigate life’s problems on their own. I have worked with clients suffering from various symptoms of depression, anxiety, substance abuse, ADHD, anger, guilt, relationship difficulties, parenting problems, and family issues. I have also treated clients who have experienced sexual, physical, and emotional trauma. I use evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). These therapies are well-established and they help us to understand how the way we feel is influenced by our thoughts.
