Dr. Joseph Pangelinan

Greetings. Thank you for considering counseling and taking time to learn about my work. I have completed advance academic preparation (MA, and PhD) in counseling and am licensed to practice independently as a counselor in the state of Missouri (USA). I have over 20 years full time experience providing direct counseling service to clients (from children to adults, couples, and families). My counseling style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating anyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don’t believe in stigmatizing labels. I tend to use humanistic/person centered, strengths based, learning/solution focused, and multicultural approaches in my work. More importantly, I strive to understand my clients’ concerns, convey empathy, provide helpful feedback, teach needed skills and build hope. Over the years, my clients have shown up to counseling with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, ADHD, social and gender identity issues, trauma and emotional abuse, life and work transition stressors, relationship difficulties, parent and child relationship discord, couples communication, career or occupational difficulties, school (high school, college, professional school) challenges and multicultural concerns. I will tailor our dialogue and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards making a change.
