Hi there! I’m Kaitlin and I’m an adventurer, nature lover, and advocator. My counseling style is grounded, warm, and down to earth. I am of the belief that counseling is a lot like a garden and my job is to help you weed out the negative beliefs or unhealthy patterns in order to make room for fresh soil and healthier, more adaptive ways of thinking and behaving. My job is to meet you with an open heart and a listening ear. I graduated with a Masters Degree in Community Counseling from West Virginia University. In my 4 years of experience, I have worked with adults of all ages, children, couples, and families on a variety of issues including, trauma, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, and stress. I tend to focus on trauma as it seems to be at the root of most issues. I am trained in an intensive trauma treatment called Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), my skill set broadens to include techniques such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, positive psychology, and person centered therapy. I adapt these interventions through the course of therapy to meet your needs. It takes courage to reach out for help. If you think we would be a good match, great! Let’s talk. If not, please continue searching to find the write person for you.
