Katie Heuer

Hi! I’m Katie. I’m a passionate professional and enjoy the rapport and growth established in a therapeutic relationship. I earned my Bachelor’s in Psychology and Master of Social Work degrees from Grand Valley State University. Since earning my Master’s degree, I have pursued my passion of working with youth, adults, and families by serving as a school social worker, as well as a clinical therapist. My work experience has afforded me a breadth of knowledge that allows me to support individuals in navigating life challenges, whatever may arise. I am also knowledgeable in navigating the special education process and other challenges children may face at school. I have worked closely with a unique variety of children, teens, and adults with conditions and issue such as Depression, Anxiety, PTSD, OCD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Emotional Impairments, Cognitive Impairments, and other conditions such as ADHD. I am also trained in and have substantial experience in crisis intervention. No matter the presenting problem, I will strive to work in partnership with individuals to best support your distinct needs. I utilize Strengths-Based, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused, and Person-Centered approaches when working with individuals, to name a few. Overall, I aim to develop clients’ senses of self-awareness so that they may live more whole, fulfilling lives.
