Kaitlyn Karman

I am a Licensed Clinical Social worker in New York with over 10 years of experience working in the field. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, and severe mental illnesses. I have also helped many living with a loved one who struggles with a severe and persistent mental illness, whether it is someone they have been with for over 20 years, or a new diagnosis for a family member that they are struggling with learning how to manage. My therapy style utilizes active listening and support. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I feel it is more important to understand how to cope with the symptoms we are experiencing, rather than labeling this group of symptoms. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, and psychodynamic therapy. I believe in treating each client individually, and using our relationship to understand what approach would be most useful to your success.
