My name is Karabeth Vanick and I have been serving my community as an Outreach Counselor and In Home Therapist in Boston, Massachusetts for 10 years. When I graduated from Simmons School of Social Work in 2010, I knew I wanted to work with children and families in their personal environments. In order to fix something that is broken, one must go to the source. For this reason, I believe therapy should be conducted in the environment where the problem originates. I have training and experience in several fields of study including Internal Family Systems, Collaborative Problem Solving, Motivational Interviewing, Narrative Therapy to name a few. As a practicing clinician in the 21st century, I have noticed more and more people are using social media to seek support. I am drawn to tele-health because it opens the door to healing in an easily accessible way. I use a non-judgmental approach to meet clients where they are in the moment. As a certified Yoga Teacher, I incorporate mindfulness techniques and guided imagery to enable clients to feel calm and centered. I also use artistic expression as a healing modality so clients may be asked to write or draw during a session and explore what surfaces as a result. I am well-trained in serving clients who may be experiencing symptoms of depression, anxiety, school stress, eating disorders, grief/loss, hyperactivity/impulsivity, and learning based disorders.
