Kathleen Rushing

Kathleen Rushing is a dedicated and compassionate therapist with over 12 years of experience as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and 17 years as a Certified School Counselor. Graduating in 2004 with a Master’s Degree in Counseling from the University of Houston-Victoria, Kathleen is passionate about helping individuals, families, and couples achieve balance and understanding in their lives and relationships. With a belief in the human spirit and her clients’ ability to find structure and balance, Kathleen provides therapy based on established and researched theories that are effective for mental health needs. In her therapeutic approach, Kathleen utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a form of talk therapy that helps clients become aware of inaccurate or negative thinking and develop a clear and effective perspective on personal challenges. With an attentive, caring, and non-judgmental approach, Kathleen works collaboratively with clients to explore and rationalize negative thoughts, establish therapeutic goals, and support them in coping with their feelings and achieving personal growth.
