Kayla Meyer

I am a licensed professional counselor in Pennsylvania. My typical client population is adolescents and young adults. I offer a client-centered approach in which I utilize active listening, validation and unconditional positive regard. I strive to create a safe and nonjudgmental space for clients. In addition, I provide a very individualized approach. I tailor interventions to each individual client’s wants and needs in therapy. In my approach, the client is the expert of his or her own life. I am there to offer guidance to increase their own self-awareness and insight. I may also incorporate cognitive behavioral therapy or dialectical behavioral therapy techniques to help with negative thinking patterns and emotion regulation. I also provide skills and psychoeducation as needed. Skills offered may be communication skills, studying skills, organization skills, mindfulness, coping skills, decision-making skills, calming skills, healthy sleeping habits and memory strategies. My style is warm, personable, and down to earth. Sessions with me flow more like conversations and should feel very natural. I am also no stranger to incorporating some humor in therapy from time to time. I am so glad that you reached out. It takes tremendous strength to seek out support and I commend you for that.
