Congratulations on taking the first step to begin therapy! Deciding to seek out therapy can be filled with fear and uneasiness. Rest assured we all face challenges that can be overwhelming. Therapy will help you process your thoughts, feelings and behaviors that can help you overcome challenges and begin the healing process. Your success with therapy is based on the quality of the therapeutic relationship between you and your therapist. Therefore, when first being assigned I will conduct a short intake assessment to understand your needs and if I will be a good fit for you and your goals for therapy. Read on to learn more about me. I began my journey to be a therapist over 10 years ago. As a graduate of the School of Social Work at the University of Maryland, Baltimore, I am a licensed certified social worker-clinical (LCSW-C) in the state of Maryland. I am compassionate, respectful, and non-judgmental. My approach is client-centered as I believe you have the power within to live your best life. I have experience working with a culturally diverse population who experienced depression, anxiety, substance abuse, stressors associated with fertility issues, loss, and grief. I believe our thoughts, influence our emotions/feelings and ultimately those are played out in our behavior–healthy or unhealthy, positive, or negative. I would be honored to walk alongside you, to empower you with tools and strategies so you can experience mental and emotional well-being.
