Kerry Mathos

I earned my Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from McGill University. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, practicing in South Florida. I help clients learn to help themselves by creating individualized therapeutic treatment plans, based on a client’s personal experiences and their goals for the therapeutic process. Establishing a healthy therapeutic relationship is of utmost importance to me. I strive to provide my clients with the essential tools for therapy to be effective and productive by being empathetic, supportive, understanding, respectful, and creating a safe and non-judgmental space where clients feel comfortable to express themselves freely and honestly. I have been working with the aging population and their families since 2008, specializing in Caregiver Stress Management. I offer training, support, and assistance to families dealing with the difficult transitions and declining health of their loved ones. As well, I work with Holocaust Survivors who suffer from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. I have helped families with counseling sessions for them and their children who have been diagnosed with autism. I have counseled teenagers, adults, and couples dealing with a variety of issues. Due to the global pandemic, more people are suffering from various mental health issues, including anxiety and depression. I want to make sure that those seeking help have the support they need through a proven therapeutic process.
