Kimberly Bass

I worked with the LGBTQIA+ community celebrities, veterans, the Department of Defense and civilian families struggling with struggling with Depression, anxiety, PTSD, Anger Management, Substance Use Disorders and more. I have also counseled in detox, IOP, community and prison drug treatment programs. I use a holistic approach with meditation and many clients use prayer, diet, exercise, crystals, bowls and/or chants for clarity. My therapeutic approach varies with a combination of cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Family Systems Therapy. I am focused on building a therapeutic alliance to assess, formulating and implementing treatment goals while working collaboratively with my clients. Kimberly “Ms. MTV” Bass: I have helped spotlight independent artists in the south to national publishing medias and music labels. Houston rappers started referring to me as, “Ms. MTV”, because of my journalism work for MTV, Vibe Magazine and other national medias. While working with Houston rappers, I discovered a passion to provide drug treatment, mental health and Biblical counseling in the community, prisons and hospital. I advocate and provide treatment to elderly, disabled, and at-risk families. While interviewing national hip-hop artists, covering red carpet events, being at video shoots I am enmeshed with people with mental illness, substance abuse, legal and behavior issues. My history as a hip-hop journalist and mental health worker has placed me on the front lines with issues plaguing the hip-hop community. In 2021, I became a private provider of psychotherapy insurance panels. I began offering telehealth counseling services due to COVID. In 2019, I began working for the Department of Defense. Office of Secretary Defense as an expert to government officials. I began counseling military and government families, couples, children and adults.
