Hello, my name is Krista. I am a licensed professional counselor with 8 years of experience working with individuals, couples and families. I have worked in outpatient, home-based and residential clinical settings in Michigan. I have experience with clients working through a wide range of concerns, including: anxiety and depression, trauma, substance abuse, conflicted relationships and life transitions. I believe the foundation of a counseling relationship is trust and safety. My first goal is to create a non-judgmental space where you can be yourself. We will learn to celebrate who you are in this moment, which helps launch us into the areas you may be seeking change. We will create goals based on your life, your priorities and your values. I see myself as a guide. I can bring my experience to help you gain better awareness into your patterns and obstacles. I can help you build skills to live life with purpose, making room for what is painful and unavoidable, while taking more effective action in the areas that are most important to you. My counseling style integrates approaches from acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and Motivational Interviewing. I am also trained to provide Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy. If you feel trapped by past experiences, present overwhelm or fear of the future, I would be honored to walk with you towards freedom.
