I am licensed in North Carolina with 6 years of professional work experience as well as over 9 years as a K-12 school counselor. I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, coping with grief and loss, motivation, self esteem, and confidence, & compassion fatigue. My counseling approaches are typically brief solution-focused and cognitive-behavioral therapy techniques through individual and group counseling. I also utilize research of positive behavioral intervention to guide my work with children as well as aspects of play therapy. I have training within trauma focused interventions. I have led and co-led groups using mindfulness and grief therapy for adults and children. My counseling experience includes working with transient populations, immigrant populations, and the LGBTQA+ community. Throughout my background, I have worked and provided services to clients who have engaged in self-harm and suicidal ideation. I provide psychoeducation to support the mental health and growth of clients. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. Taking the first step to seeking a more fulfilling and happier life takes courage. I am here to support you in that process.
