Kristen Holmes

Hello, My name is Kristen Holmes and I am Licensed Professional Counselor in Wisconsin. I have worked over 5 years in the mental health field with individuals, parents, and families. My expertise derives from working with individuals that are experiencing transitions or change, grief and loss, as well as symptoms of depression, anxiety, mood disorders, and trauma. My experience as a therapist includes working with children, teenagers, adults, couples, and parents. I also do a great deal of work with families and caregivers in adoption-related and foster care-related issues. My practice and therapeutic approach is person-centered and trauma-informed where the focus of therapy is on the person, not the problem. The goal of person-centered therapy is for the client to achieve greater independence. Utlimately, this will allow the client to better cope with current and future problems. Additionally, I practice attachment-based therapy, which assists the client in specifically addressing thoughts, feelings, communications, behaviors, and interpersonal relationship where clients have learned to suppress or avoid, amplify or overemphasize because of attachment experiences.
