Kristin Scott-Groves (LCSW)

My name is Kristin Scott-Groves and I am licensed as a Clinical Social Worker in Colorado, South Carolina, Florida, and Virginia. I have worked as a clinical therapist and college professor, teaching psychology of lifespan development. I graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a Master of Social Work degree. I currently hold a certification as a Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional (CCATP), Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), Specialist in Anger Management (CSAM), and a certification in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (C-DBT). I have worked with different populations including military members and their families, as well as children, adolescents, and teenagers. My experience includes working with individuals with anxiety, depression, post traumatic stress, relationship issues, self-esteem, parenting, and adjustment to change. My approach to therapy is client centered. You are the expert on your life and you determine the direction and depth of therapy. Through a strengths-based and solutions-focused lens, I help guide clients in identifying strengths and developing treatment plans that accomplish their goals. Through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I assist clients in exploring relationships among thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. This can help clients find the unhelpful and unhealthy thought patterns as well as learn healthier ways of thinking. I applaud you for taking the first step in better health.
