Dr. Lataya Hawkins

Dr. Lataya Hawkins is a highly experienced and compassionate Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of expertise in therapy and leadership roles, particularly in the military. She holds a PhD in Social Work from the Steve Hicks School of Social Work at the University of Texas @ Austin, specializing in moral injury and moral distress. Dr. Hawkins has successfully worked with diverse clients, addressing a wide range of concerns including grief/loss, relationship issues, family and parenting challenges, adjustment difficulties, and trauma, with a specific focus on combat-related trauma, PTSD, and moral injury. Her counseling style is interactive and warm, placing great importance on the client/therapist relationship. Dr. Hawkins ensures that her sessions are tailored to meet the individual needs and goals of each client, utilizing a strength-based, solution-focused approach. In addition to her primary approach, she is also trained in other effective treatment modalities such as EMDR, CBT, ART, and CPT.
