Laura Sparkman

Laura Sparkman is a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 18 years of experience working in the medical, educational, and non-profit sectors. She has a Bachelor of Arts degrees in Psychology and Education, as well as a Minor in Spanish. Laura obtained her Master of Counseling from Southern Methodist University in 2012. Throughout her career, Laura has held various roles, including teacher, learning specialist, guidance counselor, and administrative/faculty adviser in both private and public schools in the greater Dallas area. Her passion and specialty lie in working with the learning different population, who often struggle with co-morbid social-emotional challenges. Laura’s unique background in both education and therapy allows her to offer practical strategies and tools to her clients. She also enjoys empowering parents and the larger family system to foster healing, strength, perseverance, and optimism. Laura uses a combination of therapy orientations, including Cognitive Behavioral, Solution Focused, and Family Systems Therapy, to help her clients reframe maladaptive thought patterns and develop positive coping skills.
