Lauren Friedman

Hello! My name is Lauren, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I have extensive experience working with a wide range of populations, a variety of issues, and in a multitude of settings since 2013. Throughout my career, I have worked with children, adolescents, and adult populations in environments inclusive of individual, couples, family, and group settings. I have experience working with clients with anxiety, depression, mood disorders, stress induced disorders, trauma, grief, crisis management, addiction, and guiding individuals through life transitions and career issues. I have also worked with clients experiencing relationship challenges and experiencing family discord.  I believe that each client is unique and has different needs during different stages in therapy. Therefore, I employ a therapeutic eclectic approach, combining cognitive behavioral, psychodynamic, and humanistic-existential psychotherapy while implementing insight-oriented, person-centered, solution-focused,  and strength-based techniques. I draw from different established models as they complement each individual. I believe it is essential to develop a collaborative and tailored-approach to therapy to help my clients discover the tools and skills necessary to achieve their goals and live a more fulfilling and satisfying life. As your therapist, my primary purpose is to aid you in implementing these life skills to overcome life’s challenges and stressors, achieve personal goals, more effectively manage emotions, and develop strategies that will promote positive self-growth in an open, compassionate, safe, and non-judgmental atmosphere. I appreciate the fact that it takes courage and strength to seek out therapy and allow yourself to be vulnerable and open to change.
