Leah Smith

Leah Smith is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and ten year Air Force Veteran who served during Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan. As a military spouse and Army brat, Leah has personally experienced numerous transitions that have challenged her own mental health and led her to develop a strong sense of post traumatic resilience. Drawing from her unique life experiences, Leah strives to bring hope to her clients and provide individualized, culturally aware, and client-centered interventions. With over 10 years of mental health technician work and 7 years of professional Social Work, Leah is committed to staying up-to-date with relevant training in the field and believes in building strong relationships with her clients as they work towards aligning their lives with their values. She is licensed in both Texas and North Carolina and has worked with clients facing various concerns such as depression, trauma, anxiety, career and life change/transition challenges, and addiction problems. Leah’s counseling style is warm, interactive, and respectful, reflecting the same level of sensitivity and compassion she would want for her own family members. While she avoids stigmatizing labels, Leah believes in providing direct guidance to help clients recognize patterns of behavior and thinking that hinder their progress, enabling them to live their best lives and achieve their goals.
