Leanette Burns

Leanette Burns is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Addictions Counselor based in Houston, Texas. With a passion for helping others reach their full potential, she believes that change is possible and that counseling is a crucial step in that direction. As a person-centered counselor, Leanette meets her clients where they are, offering unconditional positive regard and acceptance. She understands that as humans, we all make mistakes and find ourselves in challenging situations, often due to our cognitive distortions. Through various therapeutic approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI), and talk therapy, Leanette has experience working with individuals struggling with addiction, anxiety, those in the foster care system, adults and children involved with the criminal justice system and CPS, domestic violence, sexual abuse, coping with divorce, family issues, families of addicts, estrangement, and those dealing with Trichotillomania. Leanette’s goal is to help her clients process their challenges, explore different coping mechanisms, and empower them to make positive changes in their lives.
