Hello, my name is Leann Ridulfo You should be proud of yourself; it takes a lot of strength and courage to seek help! This might have been a difficult first step for you to take and or you could have had bad experiences with therapy in the past. I am ready to work with you on whatever it is you need help with. Building a therapeutic relationship can be scary, but with patience and an open mind anything can be achieved! I believe therapy is a beneficial way to find a healthy balance in your life. It can help a great deal to have an unbiased person help you through whatever it is you’re struggling with. Our sessions will start with whatever it is you would like to talk about, without any judgement. I encourage you to enter this journey with me with an open mind and a lot of honesty, without honesty you are only holding yourself back. Here is a little background information on myself. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has been specializing in the field of substance abuse since 2015. I graduated with my master’s in social work from Stony Brook University and prior to that I received a bachelor’s in psychology from SUNY Oneonta. I started my career at Seafield Services in Patchogue and now work full time at Family Service League Family Recovery Center in Bayshore NY. I have been facilitating a DWI education group and woman’s groups and men’s groups as well as individual sessions with clients dealing with many different struggles, including but not limited to depression, anxiety, relationship issues, codependency, and addiction. I believe substance abuse is a symptom of underlying issues that need to be resolved before reaching sustained recovery and this way of thinking is similar to mental health struggles. I believe education is important in this process. I believe it is important to meet you where you are and to help guide you in the direction of living up to your highest potential. I would like to be clear that I am located in New York State in the Eastern time zone.
