Lisa Twiggs

I am a licensed clinical social worker/counselor working in Murphy NC. I have over 25 years of experience working with individuals, families, adolescents, youth, and children. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, career challenges, and more. I am a trained professional in trauma related issues. My counseling philosophy is one of mutual respect and acceptance. I believe that all people have struggles at times and we often learn coping behaviors that get in our way in later circumstances. All people can benefit from a warm and interactive therapeutic experience. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral therapy, solution focused therapy, and a non-invasive therapy called EMDR, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing. I will tailor your therapeutic experience to meet your unique and specific needs. It takes courage to come to therapy for the first time.
