Dr. Liza Jones

“Living Beautifully with Uncertainty” is a daily mantra Dr. Jones lives by. Dr. Jones aka Dr. J received her PsyD in Clinical Psychology from Hawaii School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University in Honolulu, Hawaii, and her MA in Clinical Psychology with emphasis in Marriage Family Therapy from Azusa Pacific University in San Diego, CA. Dr. J is a 15-year Marine Corps veteran who has lived a life of service. Her career has been dedicated to military service members and their families both in and out of uniform. Most recently Dr. J has provided embedded services aboard a US Naval Vessel in San Diego.  She has training in variety of settings which include substance, juvenile court, developmental disabilities, child welfare, oncology/end of life, neuroscience, sexual assault, and a variety of military specific care settings. Dr. J provides an inviting and supportive space to grow and reach one’s own true potential.  She loves helping others get comfortable with difficult conversations. She has specialized in the entire unit (individuals, partners/couples, family, and community), anxiety-based concerns, such as PTSD, medical induced medical concerns/insomnia, sexual assault, depression, suicide, career transition, and supervision/mentoring.  She has been trained in several modalities to provide the best care across the lifespan, such as PCIT, Sandtray/play therapy, CBT, EFT, Systems, EMDR, Mindfulness, and Gottman to name a few.  Dr. J believes in the whole person concept and she brings in all her skills to assist you in healing and prospering.  She would enjoy having you come take a seat and take an overdue deep breath. “But nobody, nobody can make it out here alone”.
