Mailin Delgado

I am a licensed mental health counselor in the state of Florida. I have experience working with adults, young adults, teenagers, children, and families. I have provided counseling in the areas of work-related stress, career/vocational changes and decision making, social skills, anxiety, managing ADHD symptoms, self-esteem issues, self-care, parenting skills, study skills, assertiveness training, family issues, relationship issues, and effective communication. I use a client-centered approach, with cognitive-behavioral interventions and techniques. I have also used behavior therapy and psycho-education to address client’s needs. Although at times, I utilize an interactive style, my skill truly lies in my ability to actively listen to my clients. I have learned that very often, what people need and are looking for most, is to be genuinely heard, without judgment, and with compassion and understanding, and I pride myself in my ability to do this. I care about my clients, and I give it my all to help them achieve the change, happiness, and well-being they seek. At the same time, I also believe that counseling is a two-way street, and the only way to achieve significant and lasting change is by working together, with the client putting forth effort and being an active participant in the process. If I am given the opportunity to work with you, I will be there to listen to you and help you find your way.
