Dr. Maria Perrotta

Hello! I would like to introduce myself! My name is Dr. Maria Lynn Perrotta. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Allied Health/Community Health from Slippery Rock University, a Master of Arts degree in Counseling from Slippery Rock University, Master of Education degree from Slippery Rock University, and a PhD in Health Psychology from Walden University. I am also a Licensed Professional Counselor. I have been employed by a Social Services Agency for the past twenty years. I have experience in individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy and couples counseling. I was recently promoted to the Director of Assessment and Outpatient Services. Prior to that position, I was a therapist at a School-Based Partial Hospitalization. Prior to my current employment, I was a Director at a Social Services agency in Pennsylvania in which I was responsible for the daily operations of a foster care, adoption, and truancy program for teenagers. My treatment approach is one of unconditional positive regard. This means I provide a safe space for my clients to express their emotions and I offer support as emotional growth takes place. As my PhD is in Health Psychology, my focus is on treating individuals with co-existing physical health and mental health issues. I enjoy helping others and I find great joy supporting others in their journey. Outside of my career, I am the mother of two sons, Sammy (age 18) and Brady (age 16). I am an exercise and fitness enthusiast and always try to lead an active lifestyle. I look forward to working with you as you reach your full potential.
