Dr. Mario Nicolas

Dr. Mario Nicolas, a Ph.D.-trained Clinical Psychologist, brings extensive experience in military mental health, clinical neuropsychology, and Primary Care Behavioral Health. With a background in the USAF and as a program consultant, Dr. Nicolas is well-versed in providing individual therapy to adults. His therapeutic approach is rooted in cognitive-behavioral therapy, complemented by Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT). Dr. Nicolas prioritizes a patient-centered and culturally sensitive style of interaction, valuing the importance of truly hearing and understanding each patient’s unique story. Incorporating motivational interviewing and behavior-change science, he works collaboratively with clients to develop a personalized “Game Plan” for their therapeutic journey. This metaphorical plan encompasses understanding one’s values, expanding their psychological toolbox, and recognizing and evaluating the effectiveness of tools used in thoughts, behaviors, and emotions.
